The value and benefits of being a Centre Member

The Centre has been identifying, championing, and disseminating global best practice corporate public affairs for over 30 years.

By becoming a Member of the Centre, you and your organisation are involved with identifying and disseminating best practice in the corporate public affairs function in Australia and the rest of Asia Pacific. The companies you keep are among those committed to making sure their corporate public affairs management functions have competitive advantage.

As a Member, your corporate public affairs team will have ready access and entrée to the latest thinking, research, practice, and peer to peer dialogue into public affairs strategy, management, and tools.

The most extensive, practicable executive education in Asia Pacific

The Centre offers practitioners learning opportunities in Australia, Singapore, and Hong Kong via our professional development and executive education modules, as well as our peer-to-peer networking and connecting events.

Members receive priority registration for all executive education courses and modules at Member pricing, which is at a minimum 10 per cent less than that paid by non-Member entities.

Centre members participate free of cost in our webinars, which are held regularly, and which feature local and international Guest Faculty.

Our offerings include:

  • The Annual Corporate Public Affairs Institute, an intensive five-day residential program at the Melbourne Business School featuring senior practitioner guest faculty from corporations and organisations in Australia, as well as international Faculty, including leading practitioners and academics;
  • Asia Institute for Corporate Public Affairs held in residence at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology’s School of Business and Management;
  • Heads of function and senior practitioners’ Roundtable;
  • Politics and public policy review with Australian Government Ministers and Heads of Departments;
  • Annual Corporate Public Affairs Oration delivered by eminent business and political leaders;
  • Our International Best Practice Study Tour. Every two to three years the Centre leads an International Best Practice Study Tour to the US and Europe. Participation is by invitation only, with preference given to Centre Members. .

The Centre’s professional award and recognition framework

On 1 July 2018 the Centre launched a professional credit system for all practitioners who complete or are involved with our professional development modules.

The new accreditation system will be tiered, and be based on accreditation for participation in the Centre’s executive education and professional development programs. The new framework will also entitle eligible practitioners to use the Centre’s certified post-nominals. A record of accreditation and eligibility for practitioners to use accreditation post-nominals will be able to be checked by practitioners by contacting the Centre, which maintains records of participation in professional development programs on its database.

Benchmarking and research studies into practice and function trends

We conduct benchmarking projects and research, and will conduct our triennial Salary Survey in 2018. In the coming year the Centre will conduct also its State of Public Affairs in Australia research. As well, we disseminate the research and work of our international affiliates and other organisations and individuals who contribute to developing the corporate public affairs function across the world.

Our newsletter Corporate Public Affairs continues to provide members with the latest thinking on public affairs issues, trends and developments. Our Corporate Public Affairs newsletter is highly regarded by practitioners in Australia, Asia, and internationally.

Online Knowledge Centre

The Centre’s Knowledge Centre ( provides a round-the-clock key to member-only information and resources. It is the largest and most extensive library of corporate public affairs resources globally.

The Knowledge Centre is updated regularly to provide critical information and resources on best practice public affairs. Members have their own username and password to use the Knowledge Centre.

Information Exchange and Networking

The Centre is the leading organisation in the Asia Pacific that helps corporate public affairs professionals to meet, connect and build networks to share experiences and knowledge.

Our programs and events are rich in applicable knowledge and they also serve as a forum for professionals to share experiences and insights under The Chatham House Rule.

Jobs Board

The Centre offers Member companies a free employment posting service for public affairs-related positions.

Membership fee

Membership of the Centre for Corporate Public Affairs is $6,000 (GST inclusive) per year.
