The Centre’s Institute is the most reputable and professionally-developed and delivered program in Asia, and offers participants and companies with a best in class executive education experience. The Institute program embraces international best practice across the entire breadth of public affairs disciplines and activities, including practical application in the workplace.

The Institute provides participants an understanding of best practice in corporate public affairs strategy, management and implementation in Asia and internationally, and is acknowledged as the best professional development offering and experience for practitioners working in, or soon to be working in, corporate public affairs in the region.

This intensive four-day program – akin to a mini MBA - is designed to take mid-level and senior practitioners to the next stage of managing complex policy, communications, stakeholder and political issues, refine management strategies, and build a network of contacts across the region.

The program is delivered by an international Faculty of corporate public affairs thought leaders and experts, and Guest Faculty comprising some of the most senior and accomplished public affairs practitioners in Asia, who will provide first hand insights about how the function and its disciplines are managed in global and regional organisations.

THE FACULTY

Wayne Burns, Director of Studies and Program Director
Wayne is the Executive Director of the Centre for Corporate Public Affairs. He is also an experienced management consultant in Asia Pacific. He has more than 30 years’ experience in corporate advisory, consulting, public policy, journalism and political advisory.

Wayne writes about public affairs internationally and teaches public affairs executive education in Australia, New Zealand, China, Singapore, and Hong Kong. His specialist areas of professional focus include corporate responsibility, issues management, reputation stewardship, social media and organisational effectiveness.

He has also developed and led six international best practice study tours on reputation stewardship, corporate responsibility, corporate communications, and issues management.

Wayne has worked in senior public affairs and management roles in leading corporations in Australia, and has also previously established and managed his own public affairs company. He sits on a number of community and statutory Boards.

Dr Fruzsina Harsanyi
Dr. Fruzsina M. Harsanyi has more than 30 years of experience managing the public affairs function for several U.S. and non-U.S. multinational corporations, most recently Tyco International Ltd. (Vice President, Global Public Affairs) and ABB Inc. (Sr. Vice President, Public Affairs and Corporate Communications).

Dr. Harsanyi lectures widely in the U.S. and abroad including The American University and Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., Leeds University Business School in the United Kingdom and the Public Affairs in Asia Institute in Hong Kong. She was on the faculty of the Corporate Public Affairs Institute in Melbourne, Australia for 20 years, where she delivered the annual Oration in 2010. From 2009-2013 she was Senior Advisor to the Public Affairs Council and Academic Advisor to Meridian International in Washington, D.C. For the past 5 years she has co-directed the Global Government Relations Forum and the Government Relations Roundtable in Washington and Brussels for heads of corporate public affairs.

Fruzsina is a Senior Advisor to Interel, the global public affairs group headquartered in Brussels. Her consulting practice focuses on the strategic role of public affairs in business in the U.S. and globally. She has developed the concept of public affairs as a leadership function not only for public affairs professionals, but as an essential competence for executives in all organizations. She has taught graduate-level courses and served as counselor and coach to corporate managers.

Dr. Harsanyi serves on the boards of the National Archives Foundation, The Arena Stage, and the Executive Council on Diplomacy. She is on the Dean’s Advisory Council, School of International Service, American University. She is a member of the Carlton Club and the International Women’s Forum. She received her BA and MA in international relations and a Ph.D. in government from the American University.
